Time Is Running

I visited studios of artist friends and artists I got in contact with this time. I go to the museum shows, still didn’t make it to the galleries, eat every second day Dim Sum for breakfast and sleep every night as if I was spending holidays on the countryside.

Yesterday I attended a lecture of Liam Gillick at Columbia University together with the artist Nadja Verena Marcin and the curator Sarah Corona. Afterwards we went for dinner. Today I want to see the opening of Juanli Carrion, whom I know from two years ago at the ISCP. It is in the Y-Gallery in Lower East Side. A good opportunity to stroll around and see some of the other shows there too.

For the rest of the time I am working on my computer. During this and the next week I have to prepare a workshop taking place in the week after my return which requires a lot of research and reading. A good way to spend rainy days.

About Birthe Blauth

The conceptual video works and installations explore the conflict between the individual stands and his limitations. I explore the subjective perceiption and thinking and the effort individuals undertake to relate themselves to their surroundings. How do biological and social limitations and rules force us into certain schemes? And what do these schemes look like and how can they change? Connected to this field I am thinking about how we perceive our live, the passing of time and our transience. www.bblauth.de
