Gift from Norway to the United Nations

A mural, painted by the Norwegian artist Per Krohg in the colours and style reminiscent of a tapestry, was donated in 1952 by Norway to the United Nations. It decorates the Security Council Chamber. The mural symbolizes the changes which the world will undergo because of the efforts of the UN, and of mankind in general, to achieve peace, equality and freedom.
